Belmont High School 2017

The students at Belmont High School have had another busy year this year, attending, participating and getting involved in as much cultural activity as they can, as well as doing well at school and achieving some good goals.

Bahtabah Oztag Day

There were 450 students from across our local schools who came along and participated in our annual Bahtabah Oztag. All students had a great day. Thank you to Lake Macquarie Oztag, Uncle Mick and Bahtabah Land council for your ongoing support.

Year 6 Orientation Day

Our Junior AECG ran some dance, art and cultural workshops for feeder school Year 6 students who are coming to Belmont High School next year. Our Aboriginal Dance group also performed for the students at the end of the day.

Brad Tighe

Brad came to speak to all of our Aboriginal students about setting personal goals and his NRL career.

Charlestown South Public School

Daniel Mateo and Caitlan Johnston worked with the Aboriginal students at CSPS to create a dance performance for their school dance. We also had a group of students go back to CSPS and run cultural workshops for their NAIDOC Day.

Walk A Mile

We had a group of students attend Walk A Mile Koori Style to stand up against domestic violence. Daniel Mateo lead the walk and also lead the Oath.

End of Year School Presentation

We had quite a few of our students who received awards on the night, for both academic and sporting Awards.
